Art, Brain Functions, Learning & Imagination

When I hold a pencil to create a figure, I cut myself from all the distubances the world gave to me. I feel focused and an unique calmness touch my soul. What I create gives me  immense satisfaction and confidence. What I create gives me a sense that - "you are a creator".
My paintings and sketches may not be up to the mark or work of a genius but completes me.If I sum up, I can say art is a therapy for me.
Studies says that people who practise more sketches, develop more problem solving attitude, as they need to visualise and create concepts in their mind, they tend to develop vision and concepts, how to resolve problems. The brain  gets trained to that particular way.
As parents are always thinking to give the best education to children, lessons of art always help children to generate an eye- hand co-ordination, what a child can see always try to depict that with the help of  hands, which sharpen his or her sense to produce something in a perfect manner.

The asthetic sense of art and painting gives a sense of joy and positive emotions. Not only the creators of art and paintings but the spectators also feels a sense of joy, when they see posotive art. Even if the subject is negetive or sarcastic, the spectator can relate to much, that it gives a sense to identification with the subject and oneself, thus also a satisfaction.

Practising any form of art is important, it may not fetch us money but it gives us happiness, which we sometimes cannot buy with money.
In today's world, where almost everyone is racing against time, we sometimes need to sit , think and practise any form of art, which we appreciate or love. To enlarge the dimension of thoughts, to generate self love, to create a good time with oneself, to increase the power of our imagination and to make our mind fly.To create something out of the box , to create something which is not regular . This enhancement of imagination help us to break free from your stereotype type problems and help us generate more unique solutions for those problems. Art gives us more cognitive thinking, which is not present in artificial intelligence.

Still, viewing art isn't just about making sense of the shapes. Rather than just thinking art is beautiful, we want to place ourselves into the artwork. This placement occurs through a process known as embodied cognition,(Cognition, that states and processes involved in knowing, which in their completeness include perception and judgment. Cognition includes all conscious and unconscious processes by which knowledge is accumulated, such as perceiving, recognizing, conceiving, and reasoning, the line is taken from britannica.com )in which mirror neurons in the brain turn things like action, movement, and energy you see in art into actual emotions you can feel. Embodied cognition starts when you look at a piece of art. The more you analyze the piece, the more you place yourself within the scene and can actually feel the quality of the works. For instance, viewers of a drip painting by Jackson Pollock can often feel like they are the ones flinging the paint onto the canvas. Other art, such as a piece depicting a desert landscape, can make you feel the effects of the hot sun, the sand beneath your feet, and the sound of a soft breeze. When you feel embodied cognition, you're able to appreciate the artwork even more.Your brain's reaction to the visual stimuli of a piece of artwork is only the first part of a multi-step process. Understanding how to look at art lets you make the most out of the experience by keeping your brain active and involved. There are a few things you can do to analyze a piece and effectively put your brain to use.Describe what you're seeing, and what you aren't.Think about the piece, what it may represent, and what it says about the artist.Discuss the work with others, and compare it to other works as well as your own life experiences. The more time you spend analyzing a piece of art, the more you are able to stimulate both unconscious and conscious brain functions. Doing so can increase your analytical and problem-solving skills in everyday life. If you aren't sure where you can go to practice looking at art with an analytical eye, visit museums , galleries often .

Therefore art and its culture,  is as important as schooling or formal mode of education. It equip us to combat the complexities of life.

In fact, according to The Telegrap, looking at a gorgeous painting, sculpture, or other artwork increases blood flow to the brain by as much as 10% , which increases oxygen supply to the brain-- the equivalent of looking at someone you love.

Psychologist Dr Dacher Keltner, of California University in Berkeley, said - that beauty promote healthier levels of cytokines,(Cytokines, are a large group of proteins, peptides or glycoproteins that are secreted by specific cells of immune system. Cytokines are a category of signaling molecules that mediate and regulate immunity, inflammation and hematopoiesis. The line taken from sinobilogical.com) - experience like beholding art – has a direct influence upon health and life expectancy. So we can conclude that  Art does heal,  scientists say appreciating creative works can fight of disease .
Therefore for better reasoning, judgement, mental faculty, health & healing purpose Art is essential.
We should consciously invest more of your precious time to art and its culture, for overall wellbeing.
